I'm a Foodie

Hi my name is Tiffany and I am a foodie.  I am one of those annoying people that gets beyond excited when talking about food and coming up with new and unique ways to change the way things are prepared.  I take pictures of everything I cook, what others cook, and what I eat at restaurants.  This website is extremely dangerous and addicting.  It has thousands of great recipes and I could spend my whole day on this site.  Sure wish I could find a way to get paid for doing something like that, if any of you have any suggestions please let me know. = )

Something Sweet: Red Bull Cupcakes

I am a huge fan of Red Bull, so I thought it would be fun to change things up and make a Red Bull Cupcake.  I had a hard time finding a recipe that had Red Bull in the cake as well as the frosting but we finally found one and did some minor adjustments to it to make it work.  We also made things fun buy adding Pop Rocks in blue and red flavors inbetween the frosting and the cake, for a little added twist and a fun surprise.

  2. Mix butter and sugar in a bowl until fluffy.  Add egss, mix again, and then add vanilla.
  3. Sift butter, baking powder, and salt together.  Add milk and red bull.
  4. Fill your cupcake pan with batter.
  5. Bake for 15-20 mins, then it them cool.  Brush the tops with a little more red bull.
  6. For the frosting...  cream butter, add half red bull, then add powered sugar 1/2-1 cup at a time, mixing as you go.

Ultimate Turkey Burger

My girlfriend Leslie has perfected the art of the PERFECT Turkey Burger.  She continues to alter and change up her burgers as she goes but this one has become the ultimate favorite of all time.  We recently went to Palm Springs for the weekend and I was able to document her making her burgers.

Ingredients: (4 burgers)
1 pound ground turkey (we usually use Jennie-O)
1 jalapeno pepper (take out the seeds, chopped)
1/2 onion (also chopped into small pieces)
1 handful of cilantro (chopped)
3/4 cup Parmesan cheese
2 lemons

Put all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix it all together.  Once everything is mixed together well create 4 large patties, making sure to press firmly together so that the patties do not fall apart when you cook them.  Place the burgers onto the grill, lightly sprinkle Lawry's Seasoning Salt on the side facing up and also you want to cut one of the lemons in half and  squeeze the lemon juice right onto the burger.  Once the other side is cooked, flip over and repeat with Lawry's and lemon.

These burgers have so many flavors and are fun to decorate with or without a bun.  Add avocado, cheese (any cheese of your choice), or grilled mushrooms just to name a few of our favorites.

Do you have a favorite burger recipe; I would love to hear it or please share any links.
