Week of Photos Wednesday

Once again life gets in the way sometimes, okay who am I kidding... all of the time.  Here are some of my favorite pictures from this past week: they include my daily photo challenge as well as any fun I felt like capturing along the way.

{Boneyard  - Chili Donuts}
Which were amazing even though they sound disgusting, we had already eaten dinner and this was a late evening snack.  I cannot wait to go back and enjoy dinner here with all the BBQ I can eat.

{Margarita after a long hike in Malibu @ Cafe Habana}

{Malibu Sunset}
 Since we decided to spend the day hiking and enjoying margaritas... we also decided to take in the sunset which was absolutely breath taking.

{Cupcake Vodka}
I did a blog post awhile back about Cupcake Wine, well this past weekend i recently found out that they now make vodka.  The vodka is a good mixing vodka but Effen and Grey Goose are still my favorites to drink on the rocks with a lime and a splash of soda water.

{Life}
Cut into my grapefruit the other morning and there was a tree growing inside.

Self Note - Color Outside the Lines

Have you ever been working on something and when you were finished, found yourself saying, "That wasn't what I had in mind?"  Life is about living life to the fullest, exploring and living everyday as if it were your last.
My goal for the rest of the year... to color outside the lines.  Most of us spend our whole lives being told to stay in one straight line or color inside the lines, what do you think happened when painters accidently painted outside of the lines? Or artist accidently took their pencil line in a direction they did not anticipate?  Masterpieces were made with those mistakes.  There is no time like the present to break though the lines and limitations that either you have set for yourself or others have set for you.  And don't forget every now and then to step back and marvel at the unique masterpiece that is YOUR LIFE.

Love Life

Today's post is quick and rather random, I was not expecting to blog today but I read an article today and picked out key phrases that hit me and thought I would share.  Happy Tuesday!

Live with intention.
Choose no regrets.
Do what you love.
Llive as if this is all there is.

Musical Chairs

My girlfriend shared a quote with me today which I loved and thought I would share some key points in the quote she sent me.

In the game of musical chairs, everyone walks around a circle of chairs.  When the music stops, they scramble for the nearest open chair.  If we were playing this game and found the nearest chairs taken, wouldn't we quickly look around for the next open one?  To remain immobilized, angry that the chair we wanted was taken, would undoubtedly lose our place in the game.  Sometimes in life, we set our sights on a particular chair.  When we don't get what we want, it is easy to keep looking at what we didn't get instead of seeing all that we have.  It is important to be grateful for what we have - for the open doors and empty chairs waiting and inviting our attention.  Loss and disappointment are part of life - but the music will play again and our lives can move on.

To my girlfriend Jess, thanks for always bringing a smile to my face and reminding me that "God is a better manager of the people we have in our lives than we are for ourselves" - Jess you could not have said it any better than that!

Uncomfortable

Lately I have felt all too comfortable about where I am at, when really there is more that I could be doing with my life.  Today I am setting new goals and felt it was the right time to embrace being uncomfortable, by doing something I have never done before.  I have been thinking about writing a blog for some time now. I wanted a place where I could share and capture all of my moments as I travel through my journey of life.

Since I tend to be a perfectionist, I am extremely stubborn and I have a hard time showing others my current "work in progress."  From paintings, to pictures, to books, and I rarely ask for help when trying to learning all of the ends and outs of a camera.  So since "MYSELF" is my hardest work in progress, today I figured there is no better time to start showing and sharing myself.

This blog is going to have a little bit of everything that I find interesting or fun things that I find along the way from art, photography, music, quotes, fashion, travel, baking, interior decorating, and hopefully lots of adventures.

Moments are one-of-a-kind.  Once they are gone, they’re gone, unless someone just happened to capture it with just one click.  I want to remember my life in a way where art and reality coincide.  - Me

My good friend Othello Silla took the picture above, as well as the background pictures on my bog. He takes amazing pictures and I cannot wait to see him become a famous photographer.  Please check out his blog and pictures at http://www.othellosilla.com/
