Color of Fall - Electric Blue

Must have color for fall... Electric BLUE.  I have to admit blue is my favorite color and I wear this color year around.  However I have really enjoyed the different colors of blue that are in stores this fall.  It is hard for my wallet to keep up.  Here are some of my favorites at the moment.

Reminder to be Kinder

I came across this link on a fellow bloggers website and immediately fell in love with this idea "A Reminder to be Kinder."  The concept behind this idea is to wear a ring on your finger to remind you that there is no time like the present and to be kind.  How often have you thought about doing something kind but never followed through with it?  This ring is a reminder to always be kinder.  For every ring that is sold, they will donate a portion of the proceeds to various charities.  They are always looking to partner up with schools and charitable organizations to support causes that make this world a KINDER place.  Plus what girl does not love a cute bow ring that she can wear that reminds her of something she should do every day...  You can buy your ring here!

Friday Favorite's

So it has been a really long week and as I posted before I have not had time to even be by the computer.  So in the small amount of time I was able to catch up on life and go online here are my favorites for the week.  Because I have been so MIA this week, I gave you 6 favorites instead of 5. = )

Unexpected

Sorry for the delay in posts this week, some unexpected family and work situations have come up this week that have prevented me from being by a computer.  I will have a Friday Favorites up tomorrow and I am hoping to be back on track this next week.

Friday Favorite's - Stair Envy

I absolutely love stairs and everything about them. In my ideal house I would have close to 5 stories just so I could have 5 flights of stairs to enjoy.  Hope you enjoy my Friday favories as much I enjoy dreaming about which one I would like to have in my house some day.

Something Sweet: Red Bull Cupcakes

I am a huge fan of Red Bull, so I thought it would be fun to change things up and make a Red Bull Cupcake.  I had a hard time finding a recipe that had Red Bull in the cake as well as the frosting but we finally found one and did some minor adjustments to it to make it work.  We also made things fun buy adding Pop Rocks in blue and red flavors inbetween the frosting and the cake, for a little added twist and a fun surprise.

Ingredients for cupcakes:

• 10 table spoons of butter
• 1 3/4 cup sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 1/2 teasoons baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/3 cup whole milk
• 6 ounces of red bull (sugar-free not recommended)
• red food coloring (desired amount to obtain the color you want)

Frosting:

• 12 tablespoon butter (softened)
• 2-3 cups sifted powered sugar
• 2 ounces of red bull

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Mix butter and sugar in a bowl until fluffy.  Add egss, mix again, and then add vanilla.
3. Sift butter, baking powder, and salt together.  Add milk and red bull.
4. Fill your cupcake pan with batter.
5. Bake for 15-20 mins, then it them cool.  Brush the tops with a little more red bull.
6. For the frosting...  cream butter, add half red bull, then add powered sugar 1/2-1 cup at a time, mixing as you go.
7. Add the rest of the red bull for flavor as desired.
8. Add icing as desired to achieve the bright blue color.

Eat and Enjoy! Such a fun recipe and it was a huge hit with everyone.
